Spectacular room, bright and spacious (726 ft² ). It features large river rock wood burning fireplace, large indoor soaker tub for two, king size bed, balcony with views on our garden, Whiffen Spit Park, Sooke Harbour, and East Sooke Park hills. Extravagant carvings and woodwork in this room are commemorating a large Maple Tree which once grew in the place of this part of the building. Salvaged and carefully preserved wood was used in many art pieces throughout the building, most famous of which is “7 Seals” by Craig Benson now displayed in the dining room. The story and memory of the majestic maple is where this room gets it’s name.
