If meandering is more your pace than racing, we have an event for you. On October 9, 2011, interested foodies are invited to pack their bike and head to Sooke, B.C. to discover local flavours on two wheels. The inaugural Sooke Slow Food Cycle (SSFC) will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. beginning at Sooke Harbour House, located 40 minutes from downtown Victoria.

The self-guided tour will take interested visitors past 20 plus farms, homes, businesses and green spaces where they can partake in mini-workshops, enjoy demonstrations and learn about everything from urban gardens and backyard chickens, to worm composting, edible seaweeds and solar power.

Invite friends, colleagues, bring your family… let everyone know about this first annual event taking place in and around Sooke….. breath the fresh air, meet wonderful people, farmers, artists…. be Green all over.
